William Morris re-visited!
Yet to be framed. I have just finished stitching this piece of William Morris's achanthus leaves. I began by printing the image on treated fabric, then after rinsing in water & ironing on the wrong side to fix the ink, I worked the leaves in Split back stitch in a rayon thread, using 1 strand. This is one of my favourite Morris pieces & I aim to do more of them. Currently I am working on a Celtic tree so watch this space!!!

A little bit of fantasy!
This is "Genie" which I have interpreted in very fine stitching in DMC threads on fine linen.
I have called her "Genie" because she looks like she is rising from a bottle or in this instance a jug.
The design comes from a kids' colouring page which I found on the internet.
Who knows she may grant you a wish! Enjoy!

Lynette's needlelace.

I have been busy of late doing Pulled Thread embroidery, & some Aemilia Ars Lace. I sometimes wish I could split myself in half so that I could get twice the work done! However while we haven't had much of a summer yet, all needlework & lace making is a welcome filler for the dull, cold days.
Here I have done a piece of Pulled Thread embroidery on a stylized peacock, with added beading for a bit of pizzazz.

More winter embroidery!

I have not been well but the good side of that is that I have more time to sit & stitch to wile away the time until I feel better again! I am uploading some more embroidery for you to look at. The one of the 3 flowers is a colouring page designed by Sandi Palmer, & it just begged to be stitched so here it is! The bible cover is taken from an extant piece which Elizabeth the 1st carried on her bible. The Pulled Thread picture was one I saw in an English "Stitch" magazine & was designed by Kathie Pirson. I have changed a few stitches & added some seed beads. Until next time Happy perusing!
